Averbode Blond (7.5%) Belgium
This collaboration between Huyghe brewery and Averbode is a delicious blonde beer with a spicy and citrusy nose and a light sparkle on the tongue. It pours relatively clear, and has a bitter hop finish to it that dries out the sweeter malts, making it refreshing and quaffable even at the ABV. A personal favourite of our tap manager, Les.
La Trappe Quadrupel (10%) Belgium
This is a full bodied and rich dark trappist ale. Notes of toffee, figgy pudding and spiced chocolate. Some slight caramel sweetness runs through this beautifully coloured amber beer.
Serve in a chalice if available!
Mongozo Mango (3.6%) Belgium
As we celebrate the launch of our own Zapatapale turning gluten free, it felt appropriate to showcase some of our other favourite GF beers.
This fruited wit beer is flavoured with sweet fairtrade mango which makes for a light, refreshing and sustainable ale. Perfect with summer on the horizon.
Trappist de Rochefort 6 (7.5%) Belgium
A dark 'dubbel' style ale, dry with a light citrus fruit taste, gently warming, with some bittersweet orange notes and a hint of brown sugar.
The aroma has great depth with hints of raisins, prunes, spicy yeast and some earthy tones. A classic.
Zapatapale Idaho 7 (5.5%) UK
Our flagship pale ale has now attained gluten free status! Always based on the Citra hop, with a rotating dry hop which for this brew we chose Idaho 7. Think juicy tropical and stone fruit flavours, sticky pine and fainter notes of earthy black tea.
Let us know what hops you would like to see us use next!
Brass Castle UK
Following the GF theme, you'll also find in this month's Beer Club pack one or two of these from the award winning Brass Castle:
Beowful - Unfiltered Helles Lager (4.2%)
Freewheelin' - American Pale Ale (4.4%)
Idaho 7 Crush - Single Hop Pale Ale (6.5%)
Kinsugi - Lemon Peel Miso Gose (4.8%)
We think Brass Castle make some of the most delicious gluten free beers, and they are based in Yorkshire so they've gotta be good right? Here's a fun fact, the Brass Castle logo reads the same upside down as the right way up!
